Transforming scientific evidence into shields against disinformation.
Literacia Edu was born as an academic research project focused on solving one of the most pressing issues of the contemporary era: the vulnerability of young generations to fake news, disinformation, and online radicalization. Led by researcher Karoline Fernandes, the initiative evolved from academic theses and lab testing to become a Brazilian EdTech with social impact. Today, we unite national and international universities to bring media literacy to public and private schools, proving that science and playful education are the best paths to a healthy digital future.

Our solutions are based on the Luden method, created by Literacia Edu's research team and inspired by scientific principles from social psychology, serious games, and User-Centered Design (UCD) approaches. The word comes from the Latin ludere, meaning to play, to game, or to practice. The acronym unites the concepts that guide our values and principles: Literacy, Usability, Fun, and Engagement.
Journalist, master's in Communication and doctorate in Information Science, Karoline Fernandes has a solid trajectory as a researcher, focusing on Media Literacy and Serious Games. As founder of Literacia Edu, the entrepreneur has a clear vision: to transform cutting-edge scientific research into practical, high social impact and fun solutions! With international research experience, she coordinates the development of projects like Meias#Verdades and Código Pata, leading the startup's national and international expansion.
